Mental Health Practice – Bay Area Center for ADD/ADHD
Established in 2010, the Bay Area Center for ADD/ADHD is affiliated with the Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy and serves clients across the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, Marin, the East Bay, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. Statewide telehealth services via Zoom are also available throughout California for clients who prefer remote access.
The clinical team includes more than 24 licensed professionals holding credentials across Psy.D., Ph.D., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, MD, MPH, and LEP designations. Named clinicians include W. Keith Sutton, Psy.D.; Lianne Warren, MFT; Davida Cohen, MFT; and Mary Thomas, LMFT, along with additional staff listed on the center’s dedicated clinicians page.
The practice offers comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of ADD/ADHD for both children and adults. Therapeutic services include cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, adult therapy, and educational therapy. Additional services encompass medication management, ADHD coaching, testing accommodations support, and an ADHD group series offered as part of the broader program.
The center describes its approach as collaborative, with clinicians working alongside psychiatrists, medical doctors, tutors, and school counselors to coordinate care across settings. Clinical work addresses co-occurring concerns such as low self-esteem, substance use issues, shame, depression, anxiety, trauma, and communication challenges alongside the primary ADD/ADHD focus. Skill development targeting reduced distraction, managed impulsivity, emotional regulation, and improved organization is described as a central element of treatment. The center is currently hiring additional clinicians.
Both in-person and telehealth session formats are available. The center serves clients across a broad age range, from children and adolescents through adults, and the clinical team is noted as continuing to grow with open hiring positions listed on the site. The center maintains a blog and additional informational resources for clients and families navigating ADHD-related concerns. The center is reachable at (415) 547-0241, with email contact available through the website. Insurance plan details and payment information are outlined on a separate payments page on the site.
