Clinical Social Work Practice – Stephen J. Bradley, LICSW, LMHC

At 206 State Street, Suite 9, Northampton, Massachusetts 01060, Stephen J. Bradley operates a private clinical practice providing individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. Bradley holds dual licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), with Master’s degrees in Social Work from Smith College and in Mental Health Counseling from UMass Amherst. He brings over 20 years of therapeutic experience to the practice. A fax line is available at 413-288-7127 in addition to the primary phone line.

Services are provided for youth, families, adults, and couples. Clinical specializations include early developmental trauma, attachment challenges, gender identity development, depression, family relationships, identity issues, oppression-related concerns, and transgender identity and transitioning. For adults and couples, the practice also addresses communication difficulties, intergenerational patterns, and attachment concerns in adult relationships. The therapeutic approach is described as strength-based, family-focused, and evidence-informed, drawing on a neurodevelopmental framework that integrates neuroscience with developmental trauma theory and a commitment to cultural humility.

Modalities offered include EMDR therapy, the Flash Technique for trauma reprocessing, Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) assessments and recommendations, Gottman Method couples therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Bradley serves as a mentor within the Neurosequential Network and was formerly a fellow at the Child Trauma Academy. These affiliations reflect a sustained professional investment in trauma-informed and neurodevelopmental clinical methods across the arc of his career.

Sessions are in-person at the Northampton office. Insurance accepted includes MassHealth (MBHP, Tufts, WellSense), Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and PPO plans, Health New England, Optum Behavioral Health, and Tufts Commercial.
