Kentucky Counseling Center was established in 2014 and describes itself as one of the largest mental health providers in Kentucky. The organization is counselor-founded and counselor-owned, with physical offices in Louisville Highlands (1169 Eastern Pkwy #3328, Louisville, KY 40217) and Lexington (1500 Leestown Rd #232, Lexington, KY 40511), as well as a Columbus, Ohio location. Telehealth services extend across more than 15 states, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

The center employs more than 100 providers and offers individual, couples, and family counseling; psychiatry with psychiatric nurse practitioners and family nurse practitioners; targeted case management for Medicaid-qualifying clients; life coaching; crisis support; and group therapy addressing substance use, depression, autism and neurodivergence, and personality disorders. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are available for several of these conditions. Evidence-based treatments include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Client populations include adults, teens, and children. The center also provides Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters and school-based mental health services.

Sessions are available both in person at physical offices and via secure telehealth through phone, tablet, or computer. The center states same-week therapy appointments are commonly available, and reports an 88 percent client satisfaction rate for repeat bookings.

Insurance accepted includes Medicaid, Medicare, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Humana, Molina, Optum, United Healthcare, Wellcare, and numerous regional plans. Self-pay options with payment plans are offered. The center maintains LegitScript verification and holds partnerships with Counseling Now and Therapy Trainings for continuing education.
