Roundhouse Square Counseling Center has served the Old Town Alexandria community for more than 40 years. The center is located at 111 Oronoco Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, within the Dalton Wharf townhouse complex near the Potomac River. The clinical team includes David L. Charney, M.D., Psychiatrist and Medical Director; Scott G. Williams, MD, FACP, DFAPA, FAASM, a board-certified Psychiatrist; Kathleen Simpson, L.C.S.W., a Psychiatric Social Worker; Ruth Ruskin, L.C.S.W., a Psychiatric Social Worker; and Rachel S. Young, PA-C, a Physician Assistant. Dawn Cyphers provides administrative support.

Conditions and concerns addressed include anxiety disorders, depression, work-related stress, adult ADHD, adult OCD, relationship difficulties, life transitions, fear of public speaking, severe phobias, and hypnosis-assisted therapy. Individual counseling and couples therapy are listed as available service formats. The center describes its treatment philosophy as a team approach that integrates psychological and medical treatments, customized to each patient’s presentation.

The combination of psychiatry and licensed clinical social work within the same practice allows the center to coordinate medication management and talk therapy without requiring patients to see providers at separate facilities.

Administrative office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Physician appointment hours extend from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekday evenings, offering scheduling flexibility for patients who cannot attend during standard daytime hours.
