Mental Health Practice – Luna Behavioral Health Center
Luna Behavioral Health Center occupies Suite 607 at 164 Division Street in the Elgin Professional Building in downtown Elgin, Illinois 60120. The center is staffed by seven clinicians holding credentials across clinical psychology, clinical social work, licensed professional counseling, and social work. Clinical leadership includes Magdalena Perez, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 15 years of experience, and Michelle Diaz, MS, LCPC, NCC. Additional clinicians on staff include Melina Pantoja, MSW, LCSW; Veronica Frias, MSW, LCSW; Voichita Moldovan, MA; Olivia Tamayo, MS, LSW; Maria Valdez, LCPC; and Edna Ozee, LCSW.
Services offered include individual therapy, family therapy, and couples therapy. Treatment modalities include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Populations served span children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a broad range of presenting concerns. Conditions addressed include anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, trauma, addiction, and relationship difficulties, among others. All clinical services are provided bilingually in English and Spanish within a culturally sensitive framework, reflecting the center’s orientation toward the diverse communities of Elgin and the surrounding area.
In-person sessions take place at the Elgin Professional Building, which the practice notes offers ample parking for clients. A free 15-minute initial phone consultation is offered for prospective clients who want to speak with the practice before scheduling a first appointment. The center additionally offers “Las Lunitas,” a free community-based empowerment group for adolescent Latinas ages 14 to 18, meeting Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the YWCA Elgin. This program extends the center’s reach beyond individual clinical services into community-level support.
Insurance accepted includes Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United Health Care, Agenta, and Cigna as in-network providers. The practice also participates as an out-of-network provider for other PPO plans and accepts private pay.
