Clinical Social Work Practice – Wise Mind Counseling
Wise Mind Counseling is a private therapy practice at 219 South Street, Suite 205, New Providence, New Jersey 07974, with a primary clinical emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Three licensed clinicians see clients at this location.
Katie Bowler, LCSW, PMH-C, brings nearly 15 years of mental health experience, including 7 years of specialized DBT practice. She holds a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University (2013) and holds independent licensure in New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Washington, DC. She is certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International. Her clinical areas include harmful coping behaviors, personality disorders and borderline personality disorder, self-harm, substance use, mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma. She also holds a subspecialty in perinatal mental health, addressing postpartum depression and anxiety. Modalities include DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. She serves teens ages 11 and older and adults.
Steven Sharpe, MSW, LSW, is a Rutgers School of Social Work graduate who works with children, teens ages 13 and older, and young adults. His focus areas include transitions to adolescence, teen athletes, school performance, anxiety, mood and depression, and ADHD. He uses CBT and DBT approaches.
Danielle Riccardelli, MSW, LSW, specializes in perinatal women (pregnant, postpartum, and trying to conceive) and teens ages 12 and older. She is expanding her DBT specialization under Katie Bowler’s supervision and also provides parent coaching.
Insurance accepted in New Jersey includes Aetna, Horizon, United, Oscar, and Oxford. In Maryland and Washington, DC, accepted carriers include Aetna, United, Oscar, Oxford, and Cigna.
