Luminous Healing Center is a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy practice with locations in Santa Cruz, California and Kauai, Hawaii. The practice specializes in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and offers retreat programming that integrates medicine sessions with holistic healing modalities drawn from somatic, nature-based, and contemplative traditions.

The clinical team includes three credentialed practitioners. Dr. Liz Esalen, founder and co-clinical investigator, holds a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years in holistic care and 15 years of organizational leadership. She has completed MDMA-Assisted Therapy training with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). Julie Vilardi, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner holding a master’s degree from UCSF and a graduate certificate from the California Institute for Integral Studies Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research program (2022). Garret Conway, MA, MFT, PATP, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master’s in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider Certification.

Services include individual psychedelic-assisted therapy, monthly group ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and residential retreats in the Santa Cruz mountains and Kauai. Therapeutic modalities integrated into the practice include trauma-informed therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic psychotherapy, music therapy, nature-based approaches, mindfulness, embodiment practices, and ceremony.

Presenting concerns and populations addressed include depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, social anxiety, substance dependencies, and individuals pursuing personal growth and expanded states of consciousness. Ketamine journey sessions run approximately three to four hours in person; individual psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes and available in both in-person and telehealth formats.

The practice operates on a self-pay basis and is out-of-network. An introductory package is listed at $2,760, with additional sessions ranging from $250 to $1,310 depending on the service. Superbills are provided for clients who wish to submit claims for potential insurance reimbursement. A credit card is required on file.
