Mental Health Practice – CT Kids Matter

CT Kids Matter is a mental health counseling practice located at 345 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, Connecticut 06410. The practice provides mental health counseling for children, adults, and families through individual therapy, family counseling, and clinical assessments. Services are delivered in three formats: office-based sessions at the Cheshire location, telehealth, and in-home counseling across Greater Waterbury, Greater New Haven, Torrington, Danbury, Meriden, Bridgeport, Bristol, Middletown, Newington, and New Britain.

Children’s services address anxiety, depression, ADHD, attachment disorders, foster care and adoption issues, anger and disruptive behaviors, trauma, divorce, and adjustment concerns. The practice uses therapeutic play and relationship building and holds particular expertise in trauma, attachment, and foster care and adoption populations. Adolescent services target teens and pre-teens dealing with depression, anxiety, school phobia, truancy, self-harm, family conflict, bullying, and school-related difficulties. The practice is stated to be LGBTQIA+ ally and sensitive.

Adult services address depression, anxiety, trauma, postpartum concerns, grief, parenting support, and general life stressors. CT Kids Matter notes experience collaborating with Family Services, Adult Probation, Guardian Ad Litem, DCF, and Family Court, indicating familiarity with court-involved and child welfare cases. Clinical therapeutic visitation is also offered as a specialized service. Additionally, the practice provides clinical supervision for mental health professionals pursuing LMSW or LPCA licensure.
